LA Baraka Restaurant

I've been going to this restaurant for the past 20 years. It's not a fancy French restaurant, but it is a good one. The price is extremely reasonable and the food is always good. I love their pâté, onion soup, escargots and homemade desserts, especially the chocolate mousse. Their escargots is the real thing, served with shells. The bread is also homemade and tastes super awesome. Crisp outer layer and super soft inside. I always ask for extras to take home. Servings are also generous. I've never left without being full.

It's amazing. I just discovered a French restaurant. Or closer, to what people,actually commonly eat in France? The $17.95 lunch buffet,is worth every cent. This restaurant,is literally,on the very edge of NYC. It's in Little Neck. Besides,the food,it intriguing;to listen to the surrounding conversations. These very likely long-time, mostly older customers,have much interesting to politely share;about backgrounds,and culture. What a gem!! .

Amazing as always. A wonderful family owned and run restaurant. Amazing food, welcoming owners and staff, a warm and pleasant atmosphere with a lot of neighborhood charm. Try the canard a l'orange or really anything on the menu. But make sure you leave room for dessert. And for dessert, nothing competes with the apple tart...

A very classic and family style restaurant. The staff and boss are very friendly. The union soup is a must order. The duck dish is good too. So upset my phone didn't take the soup picture. Time to update one. 🤔

One of my favorites. When you walk through the door it feels like you stepped into a restaurant in the Quartier Latin in Paris. Been trying to get in here for the past several years. My timing was off, as they have many private events around the holidays. Try it for lunch where we enjoyed a hot buffet-style salad bar with roasted chicken, muscles and so much more. I had the fresh cold salads and a cheese tray with pate. Dinner is of course amazing. The owners are a lovely couple with a beautiful story to tell. When we left we shared a hug and European kiss with the owner.

This is one of my favorite places to eat of all time. The fresh baked hot crusty bread is one of the highlights. I was introduced to escargots here-- and I've never had better. My hero took me and our whole class here in 7th grade. That was almost 25 years ago. He was the best man I ever knew. He was good friends with the owners-- the most lovely people running a restaurant anywhere. Please come eat here. I think of this place and I feel pure love.

Was here for a private party. The thing that impressed me most was the level of service. They all really seemed to care about the experience that everyone had. Didn't get a 5th star because I felt the food was good to very good, but not *amazing*. Since I was there for a party, my food experience may not be typical - they were serving 40+ main courses all at one time - so on a regular night ordering off the main menu might have resulted in an amazing dish - but I'm just reporting my own experience.Again - great service though.

Abundance of French art posters and fresh flower arrangements on the pink tablecloths makes this restaurant well suited for a romantic date dinner. Collection of old-fashioned copper pots hanging on the walls creates anticipation of the skillfully prepared meal well before the food arrives to the tables. The restaurant has been in business for 39 years and their exceptional cozy atmosphere, tasty cuisine, friendly service and reasonable prices keep many customers coming back year after year.

My striped bass in pastry was out of this world! And the home made blueberry tart was delicious.

Amazing in all respects; the service, the food,the ambiance. Five stars all around. I had read other people's reviews saying that the staff will treat you like family and for us being there for the first time, I can definitely say that was true. Think about this: when was the last time you went to a restaurant for the first time and left with hugs from the owner and the staff. A true gem! I highly recommend it to anyone who loves quality food and great service.
